As you begin to think through your plans at the upcoming APA convention, be sure to remember the roundtable that the Task Force on Educating through Feminist Research will facilitate! The roundtable, entitled "Beyond Gender and Beyond Difference: Incorporating Feminist Research into the Psychology Classroom," will focus on incorporating feminist research and epistemological/methodological approaches in teaching psychology. It will discuss teaching strategies and approaches that disrupt students’ assumptions about the study of gender (and other marginalized groups) as being only about how women are different from men (or other dominant groups). It will also explore how we can focus both on integrating more attention to gender and diversity across all subfields, while calling attention to the ways in which psychological and social processes play a role in how students think about gender and difference. More details can be found at: http://www.apadivisions.org/division-35/news-events/news/2013/feminist-research-symposia.aspx.
We hope to see you there!
